There is no process to switch directly from credit/debit card membership to direct debit membership. 

If you complete the joining form again, you will be charged twice and generate a second membership record under your name.

We are advising all current credit/debit card members to wait until June 2026 by which time the first memberships will start to come up for renewal. Once you get to within 24/48hrs of your renewal date, cancel your credit/debit card membership and set up a new direct debit membership instead.

You will keep the same membership number, but you should be aware that from the point at which you cancel your credit/debit card membership until the cleared funds from the direct debit are received (which can take 10-14 days) you will technically not be a party member during this period. Any risks that arise from not being a member (such as not being able to vote on a matter) should therefore be carefully considered.
