In this powerful speech from our Advance UK Immigration and Culture event, former Royal Engineer and paratrooper Andy Dye lays out a truth too many in Westminster want you to forget: Britain is a warrior nation – and our political class no longer deserves the sacrifices made in its name.
Drawing on his 10 years in the British Army and the service of his own forebears in both world wars, Andy explains how our warrior culture is different from the empires of conquest and plunder. Ours is built on service, strength, honour, compassion and a duty to protect the weak – especially children. From defeating Napoleon and the Axis powers to ending transatlantic slavery, Britain has paid in blood and treasure for the freedoms we still enjoy.
Yet today, the covenant between the people and the establishment is broken. While ordinary men and women went to the fields, factories, hospitals and front lines, the same political class now allows veterans to be prosecuted years later for doing their duty – even though every battlefield action is signed off, monitored and micro-managed from above.
Andy asks the obvious question: if prosecutions do not reach up the chain of command – all the way to cabinet – why should a single British soldier stand in the dock alone?
This speech is a rallying cry to restore the bond between the people and those who defend them, to reject the self-loathing of the “degenerate left”, and to put our national interest first again. Advance UK is committed to handing power back to the British people, defending our history, our culture, our veterans and our children.
If you are tired of being sneered at for loving your country, if you refuse to accept the betrayal of our armed forces and our heritage, this speech is for you.
